Vacant House On Green Street Destroyed By Fire Thursday Night

No injuries were reported in connection with a vacant house fire Thursday night. The Chattanooga Fire Department received the alarm shortly after 10 p.m. and responded to 800 Green Street with four fire companies.

Lt. Keith Liles with Squad 1 said the house was engulfed in flames when the first firefighters arrived. The firefighters worked quickly and got the blaze under control in roughly 15 minutes. The house was considered a loss.

Battalion Chief Chris Willmore said the house had been vacant for a long time. The cause of the fire is under investigation. Chattanooga police and Hamilton County EMS also provided assistance.
