Cleveland Named 45th In The U.S. As “The Best Places To Be A Teacher” Ranking

Dr. Martin Ringstaff, director of Cleveland City Schools, announced that Cleveland was named 45th in the United States as “The Best Places to be a Teacher”.

The ranking was determined by the GoodCall research team using data from the U.S. Census Bureau, Indeed.com and The National Center for Education Statistics. With high-stakes testing and increased teacher evaluations adding pressure on teachers across the country, analyst Paul Southerland set out to determine which U.S.

cities still provide a good backdrop for teachers. Officials said, "Cleveland's ranking comes as great news for current and prospective teachers in the area." Some of the metrics that earned the city its top spot on the list include: 

  *   High salaries

  *   Low cost of living

  *   High job availability

  *   Strong educational values in the community
