Walker County Chamber Of Commerce Announces New President

  • Monday, May 18, 2015

The Walker County Chamber of Commerce has named Lacey Wilson as the organization’s new president. Ms. Wilson, who is a native of Rossville, began her new position on May 11. She comes to the Chamber with more than eight years of experience in marketing and public relations. Most recently, she held the position of marketing manager for Blood Assurance, a regional non-profit blood center headquartered in Chattanooga.

Ms.

Wilson served on the Chamber’s board of directors for two years before being selected by the presidential search committee and approved by the executive board of directors to fill the role. Previous president Stephanie Snodgrass resigned last fall after accepting the position of President & CEO of the Dunwoody Chamber of Commerce. Glenda Jones, director of programs and events, has served as the interim president for the Walker County Chamber.

“We are pleased to welcome Lacey to the Chamber and feel that her prior experience and education made her the ideal candidate for this position,” said Melissa Roden, chair of the board of directors.

Ms. Wilson is a 2002 graduate of Ridgeland High School and a 2006 graduate of the University of West Georgia, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in mass communications. In 2014, Wilson received a master’s degree in public relations from Kent State University. She is currently the president of the Public Relations Society of America - Lookout Chapter and was named as one of the University of West Georgia’s “30 Under 30” by the UWG Alumni Association in 2013.

Prior to her role as marketing manager at Blood Assurance, Ms. Wilson served as the organization’s public relations representative and worked in marketing at the Chattanooga campus of the University of Phoenix.
