Richard Henry Bales, 67, of Chattanooga, died on Wednesday, April 8, 2015.

He was born on April 5, 1948 to the late William H. Bales and Madolyn White Bales of Chattanooga.  Richard was a member of the Disabled American Veterans and a former Marine and he served in Vietnam. He was a member of White Oak United Methodist Church. Richard was a member of the Magna Charta Dames and Barons and The Presidential Families. He had been a member of the NB Forrest Chapter of the Sons of the Confederacy, Sons of the Revolution and John Sevier Chapter of Sons of the American Revolution.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Larry Bales.

Richard is survived by his wife, Laura Ann McFalls Breeden Bales; daughter, Angel Bales Davidson and her husband, Lyndell Davidson, III and grandchildren, Emily, Aimie and Blake; son Richard Andrew Bales; daughter Crystal Bales Millner and husband, Terrence and their children, Billie and Evelyn; sister, Nancy Ramsay and her husband, David Ramsay III; sister, Pat Phillips and her husband, Bert Phillips; sister-in-law, Sandy Bales; step-son, Gary Lee Breeden II and wife Renee Breeden and children, Ben and Hanna; and two great-granddaughters.   

The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. on Friday, April 10, and 10:30-11:30 a.m. on Saturday at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.

A celebration of life service for Richard will follow at 12 p.m. on Saturday, April 11, at Hamilton County Memorial Park, Dallas Hollow Road in Soddy Daisy, with Reverend L. Lyle White officiating. 

The family has asked that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to White Oak United Methodist Church, P. O. Box 15788, Chattanooga, TN 37415 or Good News Today at White Oak Church of Christ, 2229 Lyndon Ave., Chattanooga, TN 37415.
