Chattanooga State clinched second place in the TCCAA baseball standings with a victory over Columbia State on Saturday as regular season play ended.
#19 Chattanooga State (27-10, 17-7) took two games of the three-game series.
#9 Walters State (43-9, 19-5) is tops in the standings.
With the two losses, Columbia State (30-16, 19-8) fell to third.
On Saturday, Chattanooga State outhit the Chargers 16-14 en route to the win.
In the opening game of a doubleheader on Friday, the Tigers won 2-1 in extra innings. Thomas Schmal singled in Michael Goss with two out.
Columbia State won the opener 8-6.
The bottom four teams will have play-in games for the eight-team, double-elimination tournament.
