David C. Goodland, 85, of Pikeville, TN, died Sunday, March 29, 2015.
He was a member of Dayton Church of Christ where he was very active. David was a graduate of the University of Wisconsin, with a degree in chemical engineering. He began his career in chemical engineering at Oak Ridge National Lab in Oak Ridge, TN, he worked for 20 years for Goodyear in Akron, OH, during that time he spent a year in Paris France with his family, the remainder of his career he spent working at Flour- Daniel in Irvine, CA. He retired to Morristown, TN to be near his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed reading, current events, photograhy and was avid collector.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Wandell S. Goodland; son, John Stephen Goodland; and parents, Judge Elmer D. and Dorthea Goodland.
Survivors include his loving wife, Tina Brown Goodland, Pikeville; daughters, Jan (Jeff) Goodland-Metz, Charles Town, RI, Jill (Tom) Lutman, Cuyahoga Falls, OH, Judith G. (Kendall) Clark, Newport, TN; step-children, Schawn (Carol) Brown, Pikeville, Cynthia (Larry) Cowell, Atlanta and Stephen (Allison) Brown, Franklin, TN; grandchildren, John, John McCauley, Megan, Kristen, Abby, Sarah, Victoria, Kaitlyn, Sydney, Preston; great-grandchildren, Aurora and Ashley; sister, Janet Behl, Columbus,WI; and numerous friends.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, April 1 at 1 p.m. CDT in the funeral home chapel with Steve Brown officiating. Burial will be in Bethesda Cemetery.
The arrangements are by Putnam-Reed Funeral Home, Pikeville, where visitation will be Tuesday, march 31 from 6-8 p.m.
