Robert Orin Hale, 75, of Ooltewah, died on Saturday, March 28, 2015 in a local hospital.  

He was born Jan. 4, 1940 in Soddy Daisy, to the late Orin and Ruth Newman Hale.

Robert was currently an avid bowler participating in several leagues with Holiday Bowl at both the Brainerd and Hixson locations. He competed in softball and various other sports over the years. He also taught roller skating throughout his youth. He was a former salesman for Bates Floor Covering. 

Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Jo Hale; son, John Robert (April) Hale of Ooltewah; daughter, Mary Hale (Brian) Newell of Knoxville; siblings, Sam (Carol) Hale of Hixson, Retha (Dennis) Giles of Suck Creek, Duel Hale of Cleveland, and Lavera Campbell of Chattanooga; two granddaughters, Katie Hale and Lauren Newell; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 1, at 10 a.m. in the Valley View Chapel. Burial will follow at Chattanooga Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 31, from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
