A home in the Dallas Bay area was damaged by fire on Monday afternoon.

At 3 p.m., a 911 call was made by Kevin Bagley who reported a house fire at 7909 Cove Ridge Drive.

The Dallas Bay Volunteer Fire Department responded and arrived within minutes, reporting smoke and fire coming from the left front corner of the house. Firefighters were notified immediately that everyone was out of the house.

Firefighters conducted a quick interior attack and found fire in the nursery room. They were able to stop the fire from spreading throughout the rest of the house.

According fire officials, Mr. Bagley was asleep with his seven-month-old daughter when he awoke to the smell of smoke. He immediately evacuated the residence with the baby.

No injuries were reported, but Hamilton County EMS was on the scene to check the vital signs of the baby.

Damages are listed at $5,000.

The cause of the fire is undetermined and will be under investigation by the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office.
