Mary W. Mitchell, 75, of Chattanooga, died on Wednesday, February 18, 2015.

In 2005, she retired from Hamilton County Department of Education, serving on the faculty staff for 23 years at Rivermont School as dietician.  She was a member of Stuart Heights Baptist Church. Mary was also a member of the North Chattanooga Eastern Star Chapter 333.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Oren David and Bertha Alene Baker; sister, Barbara Ann Kovach; and brothers: Johnnie David Baker, William Travis Baker and Oren David Baker.

Survivors include her husband of 55 years, Abner Mitchell; daughter, Connie (Billy) Coffman of Chattanooga; sons, Jeffrey  (Ruth Ann) Mitchell of Ringgold, and Frank Edward Mitchell of Middle Valley; sister, Francis Aleene Balderas; brothers, Claude Huffman and Ricky Huffman; and five grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 24, at Lane Funeral Home, Ashland Terrace with Reverend Brian Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Chattanooga National Cemetery.

Visitation is from 5-8 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 23, at Lane Funeral Home, Ashland Terrace, 877-3524.
