Chattanooga Police have charged Fredrick K. Bolds after Hertz car rental said he did not return with a 2015 Kia Forte.
Bolds , 26, of Vance Avenue, was charged with theft over $10,000.
Hertz officials said he rented the new vehicle on Dec. 9 and it was due back on Dec. 19.
The $15,000 vehicle has been entered into the National Crime Information Center (NCIC).
In East Ridge, Jason Evett was charged in a car theft case.
Evett, 41, of Florence Street in Rossville, Ga., was charged with theft over $10,000 and theft under $500.
East Ridge Police said they found a vehicle at the Motel 6 at Camp Jordan Parkway that matched the description of a stolen vehicle. A female was asleep in the vehicle. When she was awakened, she said she was waiting for the driver to come back from a house across the street.
Police said Evett eventually returned to the car. He said it had been given to him by "Casper."
Patrick Morrison was also arrested at the house at 1417 Wright St. Police said he had warrants on him.
