Lady Hawks Destroy King's Academy, 113-11

Once-Beaten Hawks Beat ABI, 76-59, For Eighth Win

In a monumental high school basketball mismatch, Hamilton Heights’ Lady Hawks demolished King’s Academy, 113-11, Tuesday night behind Amber Hunt’s double-double of 28 points and 10 steals and Elizabeth Balogun’s game-high 32 points.

Hunt made six 3-pointers in her most impressive game of the young season and pumped in 23 points in the first half.

Jazmine Massengill had more points (15) than King’s Academy scored the entire game and Hunt’s 11 first-quarter points matched the Lady Lions’ total production.

The Lady Hawks also had five players with double-figure scoring.

Massengill and Jamee Ward each scored 16 points and Akia Harris dropped in 12.

Coach Keisha Hunt’s Lady Hawks led 38-1 after one quarter and 66-1 at halftime. The margin grew to 98-6 going into the fourth period.

The Lady Lions had no chance. Hamilton Heights was credited with 35 steals and 10 blocked shots.

The Lady Hawks are now 10-2.

Meanwhile, in a more realistic competition, the Hamilton Heights’ nationally ranked Hawks knocked off ABI of Georgia, 76-59, in an impressive home-court win.

Shai Alexander and Nickeil Walker each scored 15 points, Ezekiel Balogun had 13, Therren Szmidt 11 and Abdulhakim Ado, who has given Mississippi State a verbal commitment, turned in his best effort of the young season for the (8-1) Hawks with 10 points, 19 rebounds and three blocked shots.

Alexander notched six assists and Alexander, a Florida commitment, finished with five.

Hamilton Heights outrebounded ABI, 42-26.
