Mother, 5-Year-Old Son Killed At Cleveland Home; Ross Anderson, 31, Charged With 2 Counts Of Murder

A woman and her young son were killed at a house in Cleveland early Monday afternoon.

The victims were identified as Rachael Johnson, approximate age of 30, and her five-year-old son.

Police said a suspect, Ross Anderson, 31, was taken into custody in Rutherford County. He has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder by Cleveland Police Department Criminal Investigations Division Detective Andy Wattenbarger. 

It was described as a domestic situation.

The incident happened at 239 Hillview Drive NW.

The victims were found shortly after 1 p.m. during a police welfare check at the residence.

Police were asked to go to the residence when the mother did not show up for work.

Hillview Drive is off Mouse Creek Road.
