Employee Of Assisted Living Admits To Stealing Cash From Residents

Police said an employee of Morning Pointe assisted living on Shallowford Road has admitted to stealing cash from two elderly residents.

Amy Jean Cole, 33, is charged with two counts of aggravated burglary and two counts of theft.

A resident said he had been missing cash from his room so he set up a hidden camera. He said that Ms. Cole entered his room while he was away last Friday and took $10 off a dresser. He said he was missing a total of $150.

Ms. Cole was interviewed and she admitted to taking money from the room of a female resident as well.

She said she needed the money because her electricity was being cut off.
