Thomas J. “Tommy” Upton, 41, of Ringgold, Georgia, died on Friday, December 18, 2015.

Tommy was born at Fort Devens, Massachusetts to the late George and June Upton.  He was raised in Fort Oglethorpe, and graduated from Lakeview High School and received his master’s degree from Bethel Bible College.  He was retired from the Georgia Department of Corrections where he loved his job and was a dedicated worker serving as a former deputy warden.  He was a member of New Haven Baptist Church and a Mason with the East Ridge Lodge.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Danny Upton.

Surviving are his sister, Sheree (Allen) Weeks; brothers, Jeff (Jodi) Upton and Steve (Lisa) Upton; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 21, at the funeral home with Reverend Robert Schrader officiating.

Burial will follow at Hamilton Memorial Gardens in Hixson.

Memorial donations may be made to American Diabetes Association, 5805 Lee Highway # 204, Chattanooga, TN 37421-3546.

Arrangements are by the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory, and Florist, 404 South Moore Road.
