4 Chattanooga Women Charged With Shoplifting Nearly $2,000 In Items At Franklin, Tn., Mall

Four Chattanooga women have been charged with shoplifting nearly $2,000 in merchandise at a mall at Franklin, Tn.

Arrested for felony theft were Lavosia A. Haggard, 29; Brittny Jackson, 28; Latavia Haggard, 25, and Markitia Owens, 24. Latavia Haggard is also charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Ms. Owens is also charged with filing a false report for giving a false name.

Police said undercover Franklin Police Department officers, posing as shoppers, saw the women taking items at Victoria's Secret in the CoolSprings Galleria Mall in the incident Monday.

The undercover officers followed the women to other mall stores, then confronted them at their vehicle.

Police said the stolen merchandise included 71 bottles of lotion, body spray, candles and cologne. They also had some clothing items.

Bond for Lavosia Haggard and Brittny Jackson is at $25,000. It was set at $30,000 for Latavia Haggard and $50,000 for Ms. Owens.

All four women have had numerous arrests in Hamilton County.

They are due in court on Jan. 7.
