Three Chattanooga teens have been charged in the Oct. 3 carjacking in Atlanta of an elderly woman.
Police said Dominique Jackson, 19, Malik Rollins, 18, and a juvenile traveled to Atlanta with plans to carry out a crime.
The three held a 71-year-old woman at gunpoint and stole her car at a parking garage at the Lutheran Towers Senior Living Center.
The car was later recovered in Chattanooga.
Police had put out a video showing three youths in the parking lot.
Atlanta Police Chief George Turner said, “The arrest of these three men show that law enforcement partnerships are instrumental in solving crime. Individuals who come into our city to commit crimes will quickly learn of the resolve, courage, and ingenuity of the dedicated men and women of the Atlanta Police Department.”
They are charged with carjacking, aggravated assault, and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.
They are awaiting extradition from Tennessee to Georgia.
Jackson was charged in late November in Chattanooga with reckless endangerment and possessing a firearm with intent to go armed.
Rollins was arrested in April, September and again in October. The charges range from assault on police to drug and gun possession.
