James Johnston, 75, Injured In Single-Car Accident On Suck Creek Road

James H.:Jay" Johnston, 75, was injured in a single-car accident on Tuesday afternoon on Suck Creek Road.

At approximately 1 p.m., Hamilton County Sheriff's Office deputies were dispatched to the 2000 block of Suck Creek Road for the report of a single-vehicle crash involving a power pole.
 
According to the preliminary investigation, Mr. Johnston was headed west towards Marion County when his vehicle crossed the double yellow line (across oncoming traffic) and hit a power pole.
EPB officials were immediately called to the scene due to the fact there was damage to the pole and wires were down.
 
EMS was notified and Mr. Johnston was transported by HCEMS Medic 4 to an area hospital where he is listed in critical condition.

The road was temporarily closed for a few hours.

EPB officials stated that they will return to the scene later Tuesday in order to officially replace the pole. During that time, traffic will be reduced to one lane until the pole is replaced.

The cause of the accident is under investigation.
