Firefighters Extinguish Garage Fire On Center Street

  • Sunday, November 29, 2015

The Chattanooga Fire Department received a call about a garage fire at 10:13 p.m. Saturday and responded to 2330 Center St. with four fire companies. Once firefighters arrived on scene, they witnessed a detached two-car garage fully involved with fire.

Firefighters then made a interior attack with hoselines while searching for anyone inside the structure.  No one was found in the structure at the time of the fire, but there were signs of people possibly entering and exiting the structure, said officials.

Once other companies arrived on the scene, firefighters attacked the flames from multiple directions.

The fire was under control in about 30 minuets.

The garage was determined to be a total loss, at an estimated $15,000.  The cause of this fire is still under investigation.
