First Things First Presents 11th Annual Families On The Run Dec. 5

  • Thursday, November 12, 2015

First Things First’s 11th Annual Families on the Run will be held on Saturday, Dec. 5.  Families on the Run offers competitive 5K and 10K races, along with the noncompetitive Santa Stroll for all ages and fitness levels.

The course begins and ends at the Hunter Museum of American Art. The race begins at 7:45 a.m. A hot breakfast with healthy food options and a goody bag are included in registration.  There will be a holiday party filled with activities for the family at the downtown Sportsbarn from 8-10 a.m.

The race has reached capacity the last few years, so early registration is suggested.

“This event offers families a great way to spend quality time together at the start of the holiday season,” says FTF President and CEO Julie Baumgardner. “We want to provide a great experience at a family-friendly price. That is our gift to you.”

Participants may enter as individuals, as a family, or a couple team. Special discounted rates are available for large groups, and the official long sleeves T-shirts are guaranteed to the first 400 registrants. Festive holiday attire is highly recommended.

Runners are encouraged to pick up their race day packets on Friday, Dec. 4, from 2-6 p.m. at the Downtown Sportsbarn.  Visit firstthings.org or call 267-5383 for more information.

Families on the Run is presented by ARDERA and sponsored in part by Sportbarn, Personal Fitness Specialists, Northgate Mall, Quintana Roo, Lite Speed, Comcast, WDEF-Sunny 92.3, Herman’s Soul
Food and Catering, Coca-Cola, Chick-fil-A, Groome Transportation and the Hunter Museum of American Art.
