Election Office Sets Staffing Formula For Poll Workers

  • Thursday, November 12, 2015

County election officials said a staffing formula has been worked out for election day poll workers.

Nathan Foster said the precincts need certain basic positions filled, such as officer of election, application clerk, ballot clerk and ballot box judge. Some busy precincts need additional people.

He said, under the new formula, staffing was "60 people short" for the election last November.

Mr. Foster said for the upcoming election "we have a lot of positions to fill." So far, 652 have been signed up. There are 836 needed.

Those interested should fill out a form online at the election office website or call 493-5100.

The pay is $100 for election day, plus $20 for attending a training session.

The next election on March 1 includes the presidential preference voting, the assessor primary and the Criminal Court judge, Division II, primary.
