Leaving Cigarette On Couch Leads To Fire At House At Third And Hawthorne

Leaving a lighted cigarette on a couch ignited a fire with two adults and a child in the home on Monday.

The smoker said he walked away briefly from the cigarette, then found the couch on fire when he returned.

All those in the house at Third and Hawthorne were able to get out safely on their own.

Firefighters contained the blaze to the room with the couch.
