Johnny Rubin Scroggins, 64, of Chattanooga, died on Wednesday, June 4, 2014.

He was a lifelong resident of the Chattanooga area and was of the Church of God faith. He was previously employed with Miller Industries as a welder and an assembler for more than 40 years and enjoyed working in the yard and going to flea markets.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.

Survivors include his loving wife and friend of more than 39 years, Arlene Goins Scroggins of Chattanooga; children, Ricky and (Tisha) Moore of Chickamauga, John Scroggins of Chattanooga, and Lori Scroggins of Fort Oglethorpe; brother and sister-in-law, L.C. and (Tina) English of Rossville; sisters and brother-in-law, Leola Corley of Red Bank, Tn., Patricia Sutherland of East Ridge, Tn., Martha Ladd of Rossville, and Karen and (Ed) Morris of Florida; several grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at noon on Saturday, June 7, in the Fort Oglethorpe Chapel with Minister Bennie Mills officiating. Burial will follow in the Tennessee-Georgia Memorial Park. The family will begin receiving friends after 2 p.m. on Thursday, all day Friday and prior to the service on Saturday at the funeral home.
