UTC Student Shot In His Back Yard Early Monday Morning

A 19-year-old UTC student was shot in his back yard early Monday morning.

At approximately 2:43 a.m., Chattanooga Police responded to a local hospital for a person shot.  Officers spoke to the victim, Kyle Worley, who advised he was at his residence when he confronted an unknown black male in his back yard.  Mr. Worley stated that the suspect shot him in the right shoulder and fled on foot. 

Mr. Worley was treated and released for non-life threatening injuries. 

He said there had been a party at his home featuring some bands.

Later in the morning, he said he heard some noise in a shed and found that it was intruders. Two shots were fired at him. 

Chattanooga Police ask anyone with information regarding this crime to call 423 698-2525. The investigation is ongoing and more information will be released when available.
