Dale Murphy Endorses Phil Smartt, Candidate For County Commission District 7

Baseball legend and longtime friend of Phil Smartt, Dale Murphy gave his endorsement of Phil Smartt, who is a candidate for County Commission District 7.

Mr. Murphy was visiting Chattanooga on Tuesday to promote the Junior Achievement Awards luncheon at the Chattanooga Trade and Convention Center.

Mr. Murphy recognized Mr. Smartt at the luncheon. They have known one another for many years.

Mr. Smartt said of Mr. Murphy's endorsement, "Dale is one of the most quality individuals I know.

He promotes numerous charities and lives a wholesome family life. I think that this is one of the reasons he is such a celebrated athlete. It is an honor for him to endorse me."
