Police Say Man Killed Wife's Cat After She Said She Was Divorcing Him

Police said a Hixson man killed his wife's cat after she said she was divorcing him.

He also put several holes in the walls of their residence and knocked out a window, according to a report.

Joshua Shane Caldwell, 20, of 6445 Brookmeade Circle, is charged with aggravated cruelty to animals and vandalism.

The incident happened last Nov. 28, but the arrest was just made.

Police said they responded to the Brookmeade residence and took him into custody after a brief standoff.

Caldwell is also facing charges of theft under $500. Police said on Feb. 24 he and Calvin Shelton were caught putting wireless speakers into a backpack in Walmart and shoplifting them. The total of unpaid merchandise was $320...
