Police have charged 18-year-old Hollis Jeff Malone and a 15-year-old with a carjacking at the Woodlawn Apartments on Arlington Avenue.

They were in the stolen 2012 Volkswagen Jetta that was driven by a 16-year-old female and was stopped after a lengthy chase on Sunday night.

R. Blackwell, 19, said he had stopped by the Woodlawn to visit relatives. He said he had stopped to talk with a friend who was standing in the road when three black males came running up.

One of the trio entered the front passenger door brandishing a silver pistol. He unlocked two rear doors allowing the two others, who were also armed, to enter the vehicle.

The driver was ordered to get out and his cell phone was taken.

The Jetta was spotted early Monday with three people inside.

The female driver said the other two had asked for their help to drop them off at a residence in Hixson. When police got behind the vehicle, she said the other two told her to run because it was a stolen vehicle. She said she was told if she did not continue to drive that they would "clack" her.

She said she was afraid of both subjects, saying they are gang members who are known to carry guns.
