James Edward Robinson
One man is under arrest after the Criminal Investigations Division of the Bradley County Sheriff’s Office performed a traffic stop on Wednesday, on Pinecrest Avenue, Northwest.
Upon stopping the vehicle, officers noticed the smell of suspected marijuana coming from the interior and a suspected marijuana cigarette in plain view in an ash tray. Further investigation led officers to identify the driver as James Edward Robinson III.
Three plastic baggies of suspected marijuana were found in Robinson’s pants pocket, and another in a backpack. The search also located a Phoenix Arms .22 caliber pistol, fully-loaded under the driver’s seat. Several more baggies commonly used to package marijuana were found as well.
Robinson has been charged with possession of Schedule VI for resale, possession of felony drug paraphernalia, possession of a firearm during a felony, driving on a revoked license, failure to maintain lane and a window tint violation.
Sheriff Eric Watson commended the officers of CID in making the arrest.
