Annie Belle Gold
Annie Belle Gold, 87, who was born Dec. 1, 1926 in Flat Rock, Ala., passed away Thursday, Oct. 9, 2014, in a Chattanooga health care facility.
Mrs. Gold was the widow of Emitt F. Gold, a minister of the Churches of Christ in the Tri-State area. She is remembered for her undying love and devotion to her husband and family, her Godly home, and adherence to Biblical principles. She was known for wonderful feasts with an open table at all times.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Carrie Sims; her sister, Louise Lynn; her brothers, Gene Sims, Norris Sims and Lloyd Sims.
She was the oldest sister to her siblings at the time of her mother's death, so at 16 she began to raise the younger ones who naturally looked up to her as their second mother.
Survivors include her four children, Earlene (Rex) Weeks, Shirley (Roger) Holloway, Tommy (Ronda) Gold and Vickie (Byron) Holland. Mrs. Gold is survived by seven grandchildren, Dr. William Weeks, Tim Weeks, Angel (Dr. Bob) Haug, Jerrad (Mandy) Holloway, Casey Holloway, Chris Gold (April Settles) and Dr. Laura Gold (Shannon Wrege). She was blessed with five great-grandchildren, Dakota Weeks, Callen and Kyla Haug, Duncan and Cana Holloway. Mrs. Gold is survived by her beloved sister, Christine Ginn; and her brothers, Gerald Sims, Eddie Crabtree and Freddie Crabtree; along with many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 11, in the chapel of Ryan Funeral Home, Trenton, Ga. with Minister Don Walker and Minister Jerrad Holloway, grandson, officiating.
Burial will be in Lake Hill Memorial Gardens, Trenton.
The family will receive friends an hour before the service at Ryan Funeral Home, Trenton.
