Police said a validated member of the Athens Park Blood gang is facing a rape charge.

Rodney Arnez Lomnick, 23, of Cypress Street Court, was arrested after the alleged incident on Saturday.

His former girlfriend said he approached her after she got off work and was trying to get her to resume dating him.

She said she went to a friend's house and he came in there and was trying to get her to walk down to her house so they could talk.

She said when she refused that Lomnick followed her upstairs and started asking about her new boyfriend. She said he grabbed her by the neck, then forced her on a bed and began performing a sex act on her. She said he then had sex with her against her will.

She said later in the day that Lomnick came to her house and was crying and saying he was sorry. She said he asked her to not call police.

But she went to the Rape Crisis Center and police were called.
