Los Angeles Dodger star Yasiel Puig will not have to be in Chattanooga on Wednesday for a court date on a speeding charge that brought him a trip to jail last April 28 when he was a Chattanooga Lookout.
His attorney, Mike Little, said it was agreed to pass the case until Sept. 30.
Puig, who has been a sensation since being called up to the majors, is in St. Louis with the Dodgers, who won their 15th straight road game on Monday night.
In the 1 a.m. incident, Puig was arrested on charges of reckless driving, speeding and not having insurance. Police said Puig was driving 97 miles per hour in a 50-mile-per-hour zone on Amnicola Highway.
The case is before General Sessions Court Judge David Bales..
