Motorcyclist Killed On Highway 58

A motorcyclist was killed late Sunday afternoon after striking a pickup truck on Highway 58.

The incident occurred at Sutton Road at approximately 5:34 p.m. 

 

The Hamilton County Sheriff's Office responded to the 9600 block of Highway 58, where it was found the crash involved a Kawasaki motorcycle and a Dodge pickup truck.  Evidence at the scene showed that the Kawasaki motorcycle operated by John M.

Cox, 29, of Georgetown, was traveling southbound on Highway 58 at an excessive speed.  

The motorcycle struck the front end of the Dodge pickup that was turning left onto Highway 58 from Sutton Road.

 

The operator of the Kawasaki died at the scene and no injuries were reported in the Dodge pickup truck.

 

The investigation is ongoing and being handled by Traffic Investigator Todd Cook.
