Odessaline Price Blankenship, 85, of Old Fort, TN, died on Friday morning, August 2, 2013 at her home surrounded by her family.
She was born in Turtletown, TN on April 2, 1928, a daughter of the late Charlie and Pauline Price. Odessaline was of the Baptist faith and a member of the Blue Ridge Temple Baptist Church in Old Fort, TN. She was retired from the South Polk Elementary school where she was loved and adored by the students. She enjoyed gardening and growing flowers in her past time.
In addition to her parents, Odessaline was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Dillion; and two sons, Harold Blankenship and Gerald Blankenship.
Odessaline lis survived by three daughters, Joann Blankenship Kaylor of Cleveland, Carolyn Blankenship of Benton and Patsy Blankenship of Old Fort; two sons, Larry Blankenship of Ocoee and Bruce Blankenship of Old Fort; four sisters, Margaret Morrow of Blue Ridge, GA, Geneva Hyatt of Farner, TN, Jeanette Woods of Mineral Bluff, GA and Annette Taylor of Murphy, NC; one brother, Charles “Sonny” Price of Carthage, TN; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and numerous extended family members, church family members and friends.
A celebration of her life is planned for 8 p.m. on Monday, August 5 at the Blue Ridge Temple Baptist Church located at 1011 Swan Road in Old Fort, TN with the Reverend Jimmy Parm officiating.
The family will receive friends on Monday, August 5 at the church from 6-8 p.m.
The interment and committal service will take place on Tuesday, August 6 in the Dill Cemetery in Old Fort, TN at 11 a.m. with Shon Kaylor, Jeremy Jordan, Heath Jordan, Dillon Kaylor and Jeff Shoemaker serving as pallbearers.
