Bliss Welch Is 1st Runner Up At Ms. Wheelchair America

UT-Chattanooga graduate student Bliss Welch of Harrison was named the First Runner-Up at the Ms. Wheelchair America Pageant finals on Saturday in Houston.

Ms. Welch, who won the Ms. Wheelchair Tennessee title on March 16, at the Chattanooga Doubletree Hotel, was one of 28 state representatives competing at nationals.  Jennifer Adams of Tacoma, WA won the pageant and will be a national spokesperson for the over 54 million Americans living with disabilities.

Ms. Welch, who has Limb-Girdle Muscular Dystrophy, works at Island Cove Marina.  The Covenant College graduate with a Bachelor’s in Organizational Management is married and has a daughter.  She will continue being an advocate for Tennesseans with disabilities and representing the Wheelchair Tennessee program at various events statewide.
