The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics and Special Operations charged Shannon Rene Williams,  a former nurse at Parkridge Hospital East with 10 counts of obtaining a controlled substance by fraud and one count of felony theft.

Hospital officials became suspicious and reported to authorities in April they suspected an employee was stealing drugs from the drug dispensing machine. The investigation revealed that Ms. Williams would take the drugs, then bill patients who were not under her care.

The drugs stolen reported as Morphine, Demerol and Dilaudid, are highly-addictive and used to treat moderate to severe pain in patients. These type of drugs are also sold on the street.
