The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation on Wednesday put a Mountain City, Tn., man on the state’s Top Ten Most Wanted list after he shot two people during an altercation outside a residence early Monday morning.
Richard Shane Mabe, 33, last known address 711 McElyea Road, Mountain City, Tn., is wanted by the TBI and Johnson County Sheriff’s Office on two counts of attempted second degree murder, one count of aggravated assault, one count of possession of a firearm in the commission of a dangerous felony, one count of unlawful carrying or possession of a weapon by a convicted felon and violation of probation.
On Monday, deputies with the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office responded to a shooting incident that occurred at 2636 Divide Road in Mountain City where two male victims had been shot. After interviewing witnesses, the investigation revealed that Mabe went to the residence with several other individuals and got into a verbal argument with a witness to a burglary of residence that Mabe had been accused of being involved in. During the altercation, Mabe reportedly pulled a gun and shot one victim in the abdomen and one in the face and leg. A round from Mabe’s gun was also fired through another individual’s residence. His bond is set at a total of $125,000 for all the charges.
Mabe is described as a white male with brown hair and blue eyes. He is 5’9,” weighs approximately 200 pounds and has tattoos on his chest, back, arms, leg, wrists, left hand and fingers.
Mabe is a convicted felon and a registered sex offender for an attempted rape conviction in 2000. He is also currently serving probation and has an order of protection against him for a domestic situation. Mabe’s criminal history dates back to 1998 and also includes multiple domestic assault offenses, manufacturing methamphetamine, introduction of contraband in a penal facility, multiple counts of especially aggravated burglary, possession of drug paraphernalia, breaking and entering, resisting arrest, aggravated assault, evading arrest, rape, vandalism, assault, reckless endangerment, domestic violence, DUI, public intoxication and driving on a revoked license.
