Wilson Air Center-Chattanooga will host two aviation legends, R.A. “Bob” Hoover and Sean Tucker, Wednesday at 7 p.m. The event will be held at Wilson Air Center located on the Chattanooga Airport at 932 Jubilee Dr.
Mr. Hoover, best known for his civil air show career, is considered to be one of the founding fathers of modern aerobatics. Prior to his air show career, Mr. Hoover served in World War II as a test and fighter pilot. Shot down off the coast of France and taken prisoner by German forces, Mr. Hoover was able to escape the POW camp, run to the nearest airport and steal a German fighter aircraft, and fly to safety in the Netherlands. Highly decorated, Mr. Hoover continued his career as a post-war USAF Military Pilot in the X-1 program, and is considered to be “….the greatest stick and rudder man who ever lived,” as quoted by Jimmy Doolittle.

Mr. Tucker is considered the world’s current premier air show performer, who has flown more than 1,000 air show performances in front of more than 80 million spectators. He currently leads Team Oracle on the airshow circuit and is a Living Legend of Aviation.
Both men will be onsite at Wilson Air Center to spend an evening sharing stories of American Aviation, of their experiences, and to answer any questions from attendees.
