Howard Taylor
Rev. Howard Micheal “Corky” Taylor, Sr., 83, died on Wednesday, March 6, 2013.
He was called to preach in 1967 and was pastor of his first church, Hillcrest Baptist Church in 1969. He also was pastor of several churches over more than 35 years. He was a member of the teamsters local 515, and was a Truck Driver for Central Motors for several years. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
Rev. Taylor was preceded in death by a son, Howard M. Taylor, Jr.
Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Edna H. Taylor; one son, Ronald Taylor, of Chattanooga; daughters, Judy Parton of Chattanooga, Teresa Burch of Chattanooga; Marilyn (John) Tilley of Rossville; brother, Chester D. Stephens of Palmer, Ak.; sisters, Grace Loretta Taylor, of Birchwood, Mildred Payne of Ooltewah, Carol Smith, of Chattanooga and Nellie Burr, of Cheboygan, Mi.; 12 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at noon on Saturday, March 9, in the Heritage Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Marvin Fowler and Reverend Don Self officiating.

Burial will follow at Hamilton Memorial Gardens in Hixson.
The family will receive friends on Friday, March 8, from 4-8 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home, 7454 E. Brainerd Road.
