Health Department Employee Arrested For Stealing Numerous County Computers

The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division has arrested Hamilton County Health Department employee Ricky Martin Flerl in the theft of numerous computers from the health department.

Flerl, 53, is charged with one count of theft over $1,000.

Authorities said the investigation identified Flerl as a suspect and evidence was established linking him to the theft of departmental assets.

Flerl was arrested Tuesday by the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office and booked into the Hamilton County Jail.

He was charged with another theft in 2006 and was granted a judicial diversion on a nolo contendere plea. He was required to repay $295 to Beacon Health.

Dalton Police Department Seeks Identity Of Cigarette Snatcher

Investigators are asking for the public’s help with identifying a man who grabbed four packs of cigarettes and ran out of an area convenience store without paying for them.
