Most Chattanooga Bike Rental Stations Now Up And Running

  • Monday, August 6, 2012

All of the stations for the city of Chattanooga's new bicycle rental program are operational with the exception of 2 North Shore (Greenlife), Bicycle Coordinator Philip Pugliese said.

He stated, "Usage has been steady and growing, but this was designed as a soft launch to ensure the stability of the system.  New member orders are being fulfilled and we have had many single-day users including both residents and visitors.

"Our Bike Chattanooga team has been on the street and at several events such as Nightfall, Riverfront Nights, and the Sunday Market to answer questions and demonstrate the system.

"It is too early to make comparisons between actual and projected use over the term of the project, but we have no indications that the financials of the program will not trend as anticipated.  The public’s response to Bike Chattanooga has been very positive."
