An investigation by the Bradley County Sheriff’s Office led to the arrest on Thursday of Michael Lee Blattner, 35, aka Tattoo Mike, on felony counts of aggravated burglary, burglary, and theft over $10,000.

The charges are the result of burglaries at the office of Simpson Bridge Construction Company on South Lee Highway on June 15 and a home in the 800 block of Armstrong Road on June 26.

Six guns, two computers, an IPod, and some cash were part of the loss from the business. The loss was just over $7,500.

On Armstrong Road the homeowner reported six guns, jewelry, sterling silver silverware and other property combined for a loss in excess of $15,000.

Detectives were able to trace some of the property to pawn shops and learned several other individuals had pawned items not knowing they were from the two burglaries. The sheriff’s office is asking for these people to contact the criminal investigations division by calling 728-7336. At this time none of the firearms have been recovered.

Detectives are asking for help identifying a pocket knife engraved with “DAD.” It has been recovered but they have been unable to connect it to any recent burglaries they are investigating.  Should someone recognize this description it is asked they contact the sheriff’s office at the number above.

The investigation is continuing and additional charges could be filed.
