Decosimo Provides Leadership For National Hedge Fund Investment & Operations Boot Camp Course

Decosimo, a Top 100 accounting and business advisory firm, will be lending its leadership for hedge fund education targeting hedge fund investors and management teams.  Decosimo is providing support as the lead sponsor and Principal Karl J. Jordan, CPA, CGMA, will chair the Hedge Fund Investment & Operations Boot Camp courses hosted by the Financial Research Associates (FRA) July 30-31 at New York City’s Princeton Club. Additionally, Elizabeth Powell, CPA, a tax manager with Decosimo’s Financial Services Group, will be presenting “The ABCs Hedge Fund Tax” at the event.

The two-day program will explore topics such as understanding the function of a hedge fund of funds; the ins and outs of hedge fund risk and return; examining liquid hedge fund alternatives; hedge fund strategies; the ABCs hedge fund tax; the importance of due diligence; and deconstructing the valuation process.

Mr. Jordan is Decosimo’s alternative investment/hedge fund practice leader and also serves as the Director in Charge of the firm’s Cayman Islands office, Moore Stephens Decosimo Cayman Limited. He has extensive experience in providing services to financial institutions, private investment partnerships, alternative investment partnerships, hedge funds, broker/dealers, real estate companies, captive insurance, investment companies, family offices and high-net-worth individuals.

Ms. Powell, a Decosimo tax manager, provides quality control review for tax services to investment entities including hedge funds, offshore funds, private equity groups, mezzanine funds and venture capital funds. She specializes in federal, state and local tax compliance preparation and review, as well as partnership consulting regarding transaction/entity structures, partnership/operating agreements, partnership tax allocation and accounting for uncertainty in income taxes.
