Corker To Speak At Fundraiser For Rep. Gerald McCormick

Sen. Bob Corker will speak at a fundraiser for state Rep. Gerald McCormick (R-Chattanooga) on Friday at 5:30 p.m. at the Chattanoogan hotel on S. Broad Street.

Special guests at the event include County Mayor Claude Ramsey, state House of Representatives Republican Leader Jason Mumpower (R-Bristol), and State House of Representatives Republican Caucus Chairman Glen Casada (R-Franklin).

“It is an honor and a vote of confidence to have Sen. Corker as a special host of this event,” said Rep. McCormick. “I am very supportive of his efforts on Tennesseans’ behalf in Washington, and I appreciate his support of my efforts on our community’s behalf in Nashville.”

The event is the first step in Rep. McCormick’s bid to retain his seat in the Tennessee State House of Representatives in the 2008 election.

Rep. McCormick is chairman of the Hamilton County Legislative Delegation.

He represents the 26th House District which includes a portion of Hamilton County. He is a member of the House Commerce Committee and the House Committee on Education. Also, he serves on the Fiscal Review Committee.

Rep. McCormick resides in Chattanooga, where he is a commercial real estate broker.
