Ethos Fuel Reformulater Works To Improve Emissions

With the recent implementation of vehicle emissions testing and steadily rising fuel prices, owning a vehicle can be stressful and expensive. Zack Ditmar, distributor of Ethos Environmental Incorporated, said Ethos FR (Fuel Reformulater) was released into the retail market in 2005 and can significantly improve emissions and gas mileage.

Ethos FR is a fuel additive that “reformulates” fuel “causing two important benefits,” he said. The additive lubricates the engine and cleanses the fuel system. In turn, fuel burns without producing soot that cause emissions and, fuel burns more efficiently, reducing gas mileage.

The fuel additive contains “esters” which “clean the dirty deposits formed by fuels and the combustion process.” Mr. Ditmar noted that this lubricating form of esters has been used in synthetic oil for nearly 40 years. However, in order to make oil more economical esters are not typically used.

A study shows that on average using Ethos FR increases gas mileage between seven and 19 percent and reduces emissions by more than 30 percent. Mr. Ditmar said since he started adding Ethos FR to his fuel, he has seen a 12 percent increase in gas mileage in his Honda Accord, and his Ford Escort now gets about 35 miles per gallon.

Mr. Ditmar said the response of the vehicle to the product depends on the vehicle’s age, accumulation of deposits and how well it has been maintained, but he noted that it will improve any vehicle to an extent.

Ethos FR is a great product to use on new cars before any build up occurs. For older vehicles, the additive typically greatly reduces the build up that cause emission, he said.

For Ethos FR to be most effective, two ounces should be added per tank of fuel. Mr. Ditmar suggested that consumers use one ounce every ten gallons. Additionally, three to four ounces should be added to the oil at each oil change.

Mr. Ditmar noted that first time users need to make sure that their vehicle is driven 30 to 40 miles prior to an emissions test so the product has time to “get worked through the engine. You don’t want to just pour it in and drive to the testing center.”

Ethos FR has been manufactured for over ten years in 55 gallon drums for large fleets of vehicles, said Mr. Ditmar. With increased gas prices and emission concerns, the company recently decided to market on the retail side as well as commercial.

The product is sold in 32 ounce and 12 ounce bottles. The 32 ounce bottle costs $29. Ethos FR is not sold in stores because manufacturers feared that the product would “get lost on the shelves.” The product is registered with the EPA.

Ethos FR can be purchased by calling distributor Zack Ditmar at (423) 903-9060 or ordered online at www.four-ecorp.com/zditmar.

More information on the product can also be found on the website. Ethos FR has been featured on NBC News and Fox News.

Mr. Ditmar said Ethos FR has many customer success stories. For example, a Waste Management Company in California was being fined for emissions, but after using Ethos FR, the company has received awards for having cleaner trucks.

“I love this product because it helps a lot of people,” said Mr. Ditmar. “It’s great to use a product that you know is cleaning up the environment. It makes you feel like giving yourself a pat on the back. There are not many products like that.”
