Ronnie Lebron Ringer Jr. has been charged in connection with an incident on Jan. 10 in which one suspect pointed a gun at a police officer.
Police had arrived at 4526 Hancock Road while a burglary was in progress. Christopher Upshaw and Jarvarrest Williams began running from the rear of the residence toward some woods. Both suspects were armed, and Upshaw pointed his weapon at an officer, who shot at him.
Upshaw was found a short time later suffering from a gunshot wound to the neck.
A third suspect, Jermichael Nicholson, was also arrested.
One of those involved told officers that "Squirt" had contacted him and told him that he knew of a location where a large amount of drugs and money could be found. He said "Squirt" stated that he would get the drug dealer out of the house so they could burglarize the house.
Police said they called the number for "Squirt" and got Ronnie Ringer on the line.
Ringers in 2009 got a three-year sentence of burglary cases.
His new charges include two counts of aggravated robbery, aggravated burglary, criminal conspiracy, theft over $1,000 and evading arrest.
