Morning Pointe of Chattanooga will host its own version of the Senior Olympics. Residents will pass a torch while lapping the assisted living community. They will also participate in other fun games including the football throw, soccer kick, golf putt, corn hole and bowling. Medals will be awarded. Family, friends and area vendors will be on hand for the event and help cheer on the competitors.

Deke Day is Aug. 19. Dozens of freshman from Lee University are expected to spread out community-wide in celebration of their 10th year of Deke Day, a day of service.
Last year, about 20 students arrived at Morning Pointe of Chattanooga for a variety of events. While some jumped right in on projects around the community, others spent one-one time with the residents. They colored, did manicures, read, played games and even served up made to order ice cream sundaes. “It was a wonderful afternoon for the friendship and fellowship,” said Jennifer Halpin, life enrichment director for Morning Pointe of Chattanooga. “It was especially fun to hear about the residents telling stories of their childhood to the students.”
