Hazardous Waste Collection Day Is Saturday

The next scheduled Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day is this Saturday, from 8 a.m.-12 p.m. at 3925 North Hawthorne Street. 

 

The facility is open on the second Saturday of each month for all Hamilton County residents to dispose of common hazardous materials generated within their residence.

  Hazardous materials include batteries, insecticides, pesticides, herbicides, small electronics, oil-based paints, fluorescent light bulbs and many other items.  Trained staff will be on site and ready to unload all acceptable household hazardous materials from your vehicle.  All of the items collected are reused, recycled, or disposed of properly.

 


Free Meter Parking Offered On Memorial Day

Rogers, 20, Shot Twice While Standing On His Porch

A 20-year-old man was shot twice while standing on his porch on Monday night. At approximately 8:44 p.m., Chattanooga Police responded to a shooting that occurred in the 1900 block of Walker Street.
