James Lee Jones, 69, of Cleveland, TN and formerly of Dalton, GA, died Friday, August 3, 2012.
James was born August 23, 1942 in Dalton, a son of the late Clifford Martin and Hazel Pearl Massingill Jones; and was also preceded in death by a brother, Wilburn Martin Jones.
He is survived by his faithful companion, Juanita Woodward of Cleveland; sons and daughter-in-law, James and Nina Jones, Jr. of Sacramento, CA and Lon Barltett of Chatsworth, GA; grandchildren, Nicole, Labron and Sierra Bartlett; brothers and sister-in-law, Jerry and Dot Jones of Chatsworth and Clifford "Buck" Jones, Jr. of Dalton; sisters and brothers-in-law, Linda Sue Jones and Jimmy Tipton, Rachel and Dennis Hayes, Phyllis and Jimmy Milsap all of Dalton, Audrey and David Huffines, Kathy and Wayne Smith all of Chatsworth; special friend, Johnny Killion of Dalton; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services to celebrate the life of Mr. James Lee Jones will be held Tuesday, August 7, at 3 p.m. at Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend Jimmy Floyd officiating. He will be laid to rest at the New Zion Hill Baptist Church Cemetery with Justin Grant, Alan Jones, Wayne Smith, Mark Smith, Rodney Smith and Dan Akins serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 6-9 p.m. Monday, August 6 and after 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 7 at the Ponders Melrose Chapel who has charge of the arrangements.
