Five Star Food Fight At Chattanooga Market Sunday

Monday, August 06, 2012

Local chefs will compete live at the Chattanooga Market on Sunday.  Five local chefs have been chosen to compete in an event where they will have to be creative, quick-thinking and woo the judges.

The chefs won't know what protein (beef, pork, fish or chicken, etc.) they will be asked to prepare.  This information will be revealed at 11:30 a.m. when it's time for them to shop for all of the other fresh ingredients they will need for their main dish.

The crowds will be able to watch the chefs pick out fruits, vegetables, spices, cheeses and more to make their dish right at the Market.  From about 12:30-3 p.m. market goers can then watch the chefs demonstrate their culinary skills using FiveStar cooking ranges, a longtime Market sponsor.

The 2012 competing chefs for the Five Star Food Fight are: Aaron Long, Market Street Tavern, David Flint, Famous Nators, Matt Marcus, Hennen’s, Andrew Milsnaps, Broadstreet Grille and Nick Goeller, 212 Market.

11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. chefs scour the Market for fresh ingredients with $30 shopping money.
