Baylor School has named Stephen Jackson the director of College Counseling.

Appointed in 2006 as a college counselor, Mr. Jackson will now oversee two full-time college counselors and two administrative personnel.  The office is responsible for guiding the members of each year’s graduating class through the application and transition process to post- secondary education, advising Upper School students on the college selection process, meeting with Upper School parents about their children’s college process, and maintaining relationships with college admission officers throughout the U.
S.

Originally from Kalamazoo, Mich., Mr. Jackson received a B.A. from Sewanee: The University of the South, and continued his education at Brown University where he earned a Master of Arts in Teaching. He resides on Signal Mountain with his wife Barbara and their three children.

In addition to Mr. Jackson’s appointment, Amelia Johnson has been hired as a new college counselor.  A native of Montgomery, Ala., Ms. Johnson held a number of roles within the undergraduate admission office at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.  She has a bachelor’s degree in Religious Studies from Kenyon College and a master’s degree in Higher Education from Harvard.

Morning Pointe Awards First Nursing Scholarship At Chattanooga State

Head Of BB&T's Chattanooga Commercial Banking Operations To Plead Guilty To Making Fraudulent Loans

The head of BB&T's Chattanooga commercial banking operations has been charged by federal authorities with making fraudulent loans. Tracy Brown is set to plead guilty to bank fraud on June 4.
