Acting on a citizen tip of suspicious activity, officers responded on Saturday to 107 Joyce Ave. to investigate a possible stolen vehicle. Upon arrival, officers observed a male enter the front door of the residence and when they approached the door, the same male fled out a rear window. Officers pursued on foot, but were unable to locate him.
Upon further investigation at 107 Joyce Ave., officers discovered that the Mitsubishi SUV and 32-foot travel trailer had both been reported as stolen. They also located two motorcycles, an ATV and a 12-gauge shotgun that had been reported as stolen, one had been reported earlier that same day.
Upon a closer inspection of the travel trailer, an active meth lab was found. Detectives from the Chattanooga Police Department responded to assist in the recovery of those items stolen from within Chattanooga and members of the Tennessee Methamphetamine and Pharmaceutical Task Force responded to assist in the reclamation of the lab inside the trailer.
Charges are pending in this case and the investigation is continuing.
